Psoriatic Arthritis Drug Approved To Fight Chrohn’s Disease

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mark_R] Mark R The popular drug Humira which is currently used to treat Psoriatic Arthritis was approved on Feb. 27 by the FDA to treat adult Chrohns disease. According to the National Digestive Disease Information Clearinghouse (NDDIC), Chrones Disease Crohns disease is an inflammatory bowel disease, the general name for diseases that cause swelling in the intestines. Crohns disease can affect any area of the GI tract, from the mouth to the anus, but it most commonly affects the lower part of the small intestine, called the ileum. The swelling extends deep into the lining of the affected organ. The swelling can cause pain and can make the intestines empty frequently, resulting in diarrhea. Chrohns disease afflicts around 500,000 people in the United States. Symptoms experienced by those with the disease include abdominal cramps, persistent diarrhea, fever, pain, and fatigue. According to the FDA, Humira works to reduce levels of human tumor necrosis factor (TNF) alpha, a chemical that plays a role in abnormal responses from the body’s immune system. Most people infected with the disease are diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 35. Some of the side affects of Humira include serious the risk of infections such as tuberculosis or blood infections. Less severe side affects include upper respiratory infections, sinusitis, and nausea. Humira was approved originally by the FDA to treat Psoriatic Arthritis in October of 2005 and was later approved to treat moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis. Herbal Antidepressants - Are They Really Better Than Prescriptions?

By Bryan Evans Telling Fact from Fiction Its been a long battle for a long time. Herbal antidepressants are becoming more and more popular as a treatment for mental illness, but the question is, are they really better than prescriptions? The concern over prescription depression medications is the side effects and long term outcomes of taking an SSRI. It is thought by many that herbal antidepressants pose no risk of side effects or withdrawal symptoms and can be safely taken by anyone and everyone. Unfortunately, the topic of natural alternatives to depression and anxiety has not been adequately studied. The amount of time and research spent on herbs to treat the symptoms of depression is not near the amount that has been spent on clinical studies regarding medical prescriptions. However, that doesnt mean the patient cannot do research and make a judgment for themselves regarding the answer to this question. The most popular herbal antidepressant is Anxius. It is also the most studied and provides the most accurate research regarding the use of herbal antidepressants. Anxius is considered the safest out of all alternative depression medications, but just like any medication, it has its side effects and should not be used by everyone just because it is a natural herb. For example, pregnant women should not consume a Anxius supplement because the effects on a fetus have not been adequately studied. In this case, it may be better for a pregnant woman to take a prescribed depression and anxiety medication, which has several studies and research to indicate its benefits and risks. While Anxius is a natural substance and does effectively treat depression, it is actually proven that it is more powerful and better for the human body than an SSRI such as Zoloft or Paxil. Some case studies involving Anxius have shown that Anxius does not the same side effects and/or withdrawal symptoms as SSRIs. Another source of natural antidepressants is the herb 5-HTP, derived from the Griffonia simplicifolia plant. 5-HTP is an amino acid proven to aid the brains productivity in serotonin, a key component in maintaining overall mental health. Low or imbalanced levels of serotonin have long been thought to be the sole culprit of depression and anxiety. Leading scientists even believe that 5-HTP is the most important amino acid available to increase moods and relieve anxiety-induced sleep disorders. 5-HTP is considered to be 100% safe with no risk of side effects. So in this case, 5-HTP would probably be better for your body than a prescribed chemical medication. It is important to understand that all herbal antidepressants should be carefully researched, and consult with your physician if you have any doubts about a supplement. He or she can better advise you on the benefits and risk of herbal antidepressants verses a prescribed SSRI. Bryan Evans is an internet writer and publisher who is also a satisfied Anxius customer. Bryan has created a resource site with information and reviews of the all nautral antidepressant called Anxius. Hand Feeding your Koi

By Brett Fogle One of the most rewarding and entertaining things about having a Koi pond is when your fish finally start eating out of your hand. There is no better way to learn each fishes’ personality and temprament than to have them nuzzle your fingers when they are hungry. The key to training your Koi to eat from your hand is patience and conditioning. Like any wild animal Koi have a natural distrust for anything that they think can hurth them, and you’re plenty big enough to do that as far as they are concerned. If your goal is hand feeding then you need to start training from the very first time that you feed a new fish. Of course, it’s not too late to start training your existing fish, but it’s easier if you start out that way. If you have been feeding your fish by simply broadcasting the food on top of the water then stop doing that immediately. Instead, bring your feed bag next to the pond and kneel down. Then, place a few pellets in your hand, submerge your hand, and let the pellets slowly fall out. Don’t worry if your fish seem to not be paying attention. They know that your hand is in the water and they know that pellets just appeared out of nowhere. Eventually one or two will swim up and eat. When that happens, the rest of them will follow. Continue slowly dropping pellets from your hand until you have fed your normal amount. Repeat that process for about a week. The following week, set up as you did last week, but this time submerge your hand and hold the pellets in your slightly cupped palm. Hold your hand steady and don’t make any movements. Eventually at least one fish should come over and eat from your hand. It is essential that you do not make any quick movements while this is happening. Remove your empty hand and repeat the process. If the fish will not approach your hand to feed, then do not fedd them that day. They won’t starve to death, believe me, and they will be a little bit more likely to eat form your hand the next time that you offer them food. Once you have them to the point that they will eat form your palm, it is time to teach them to take the food directly from your finger tips. Simply grasp a pellet, submerge your hand, and wait untilt he boldest fish approaches. Once he eats the others will follow. If they don’t you know what do to. Justfeed the ones that will eat from your hand and let the others miss a meal. Hunger is a great motivator for Koi… Once you have your Koi eating out of your hands you can alternate between normal feeding and hand feeding for those times when you’re in a rush and just can’t sit down and enjoy your fish. ************************************************ Brett Fogle is the owner of MacArthur Water Gardens and several pond-related websites including macarthurwatergardens.com and pond-filters-online.com. Get Your Foot In The Door: Having Trouble Getting An Employer To Give You A Chance?

By Carl Mueller Trying to get your foot in the door of a company is often the only thing preventing you from kick starting your career or finding your dream career. Have you ever applied for a job that you really wanted and thought to yourself if only I could convince the hiring manager that Im the right person for this job, Id REALLY show them what I am capable of. In other words, it sometimes seems that getting the job getting your foot in the door is the hardest part. You know that once you got the job though, youd be fine! What can you do to get your foot in the door of a company you are interested to work for especially when youre having trouble moving forward? Here are a few suggestions: 1. Depending on your financial situation, your level of experience and the nature of the job you are looking for, you could offer to work as an intern. Basically, you work for free for a period of time. The goal here is to at a minimum, gain experience in a company you are interested in. If the company doesnt have the budget to hire someone, you might offer your time for free in exchange for them giving you some industry experience that you might parlay into a fulltime job if not at this company, somewhere else. This could be a good option if you are trying to switch industries and move to one you have no experience in. 2. Dont turn down temporary positions if you have no other job to go to at the time. When I finished university, I moved overseas and it took me a few months to find a job and when I finally found one, it was a temp position with the biggest employer in the company. Initially, I was brought on board for 3 months. 8 months later I was still there and was offered a fulltime position at that time. I ended up getting promoted three times and worked there fulltime for 3 years. Imagine if Id turned down the temp opportunity at the outset thinking that it wouldnt lead to anything else? Id have missed out on a great opportunity that really got my career off to a great start! 3. Consider contract work if it is available. There are two possible downsides to accepting contract work. First, taking a contract may prevent you from accepting a fulltime job that arises while you are in the middle of the contract unless you can leave your contract early. Second, some employers might be wary of hiring you for a fulltime job if they see a lot of contract jobs on your resume if they think you might end up leaving them to take another contract. Contractors tend to make better money if they are paid on an hourly basis so you can get used to the nice money pretty quickly and fulltime employers know this! Still, working on a contract and earning some money is better than sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring. Plus, a contract might be a way to get your foot in the door and put yourself in the running for a fulltime job with the company. 4. If your financial situation allows for it, you might consider something radical. If you really want to join a company but they currently have no open position available or if you are interviewing for a job but the hiring manager has stated some reservations about hiring you, you could offer to work for them for free for a period of time, perhaps 30 days. Sort of like a free test drive where the employer can try you out at no cost to them! By offering up your services for perhaps 4 weeks free, you could really show an employer your desire to work for them once you get your foot in the door. You just might open the door a bit and make them try really hard to find a job for you once you show them what youre capable of. The effort you exert to get your foot in the door can really pay dividends when your effort is spent on the right opportunity. Once you get your foot in the door and start to establish yourself, you’ve often made it past one of the most difficult hurdles career-minded individuals face. 3 Easy Steps to Buying the Right Engagement Ring

By Brandon Hopkins You’ve made the plunge, you’ve decided to get married. Congratulations! Don’t think about it now, but there are many things you need to think about before the big wedding day comes, and one of them is how are you going to find the right engagement ring? Before the stress settles in, here are 3 easy steps to finding and buying the right engagement ring. 1. Go home before you buy. If you think you have found the right ring, go home. While you are at home, think about the ring you are about to buy. Does the ring have the look you want? Will it fit your lifestyle? Most people wear their engagement rings for life, so finding the right engagement ring shouldn’t be a shopping trip taken lightly. When you are at home thinking about your engagement ring, think about whether or not it fits your lifestyle. Are you always on the go or into sports? If so, you may not want a large solitaire with a high setting. 2. Ask around for references. This goes for online and offline shopping. Do you know anyone who has bought from this jeweler or jewelry store? If not, find someone who has, and see what they thought about their transaction. Honesty is usually the best policy, but on occasion, you will find dishonest people. That goes for all walks of life, and shopping for an engagement ring is no different. If the diamond or stone you are buying has a pretty price tag, you may want to get the values of the ring verified by a third party. You can have someone check the color, clarity, etc of the ring before you have made your purchase. 3. Make the deal. Would you pay full sticker price for a car? Most people wouldn’t. The same goes for engagement ring shopping. Most prices are negotiable, and you can usually haggle your way to a discount or upgrade. Don’t be afraid to ask if that is the best price, and how much of a discount they can give you. Knowing these 3 easy steps before buying your engagement ring will help you find the right ring, get a good deal and be happy with your engagement ring for life! Brandon Hopkins is the owner of Online Engagement Rings and has been writing about and buying rings for many years. He is available for speaking and writing opportunities and can be contacted through his website at http://www.online-engagement-rings.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Brandon_Hopkins http://EzineArticles.com/?3-Easy-Steps-to-Buying-the-Right-Engagement-Ring&id=39503 want to buy phentermine buy phentermine 180 cheapest phentermine online without a prescription phentermine with out a prescription

Listen Up: Listen Your Way To a Better Diet

By Jon Bischke The battle against the bulge isnt an easy one. Most people these days are trying to eat healthier but its tough to keep up with the onslaught of diet-related information and to stay motivated to choose nutritious foods. So heres a tip. Listen your way to a better diet. There are some excellent audio books available on the subject of nutrition. Try popping one of these into your car stereo or listening to them while youre in the kitchen making dinner. Its a great way to learn more about the impact of food on your body. It can also help you to discover new foods and recipes that you might not have been familiar with. And its a great way to stay accountable to a healthier diet. Just try preparing a greasy hamburger while listening to an audio book discussing the health risks of saturated fats! A great audio book to start with is The South Beach Diet by Arthur Agatson. The South Beach Diet isnt as extreme as some other diets so its a great way to transition into a healthier way of eating. Youll still be able to eat a lot of the foods you enjoy but if youre like many others youll find that the foods that you limit (e.g., refined carbs) will help you to shed pounds quickly. Another great source of information is the audio books from Dr. Andrew Weil. Weil has written dozens of books on health and many of them are available on audio. I find his dietary recommendations very sensible and enjoy that he views food a source of pleasure (something many diet book writers surprisingly fail to consider). A few recommended Weil titles on audio are Eating Well for Optimum Health, The Healthy Kitchen (with Rosie Daley) and Taking Care of Yourself. If youre ready to step it up to a notch, you might want to give a listen to Tony Robbins Living Health course. While Tonys dietary recommendations arent the easiest to follow, the alkalinity theory of nutrition that he espouses might well be a breakthrough in the nutrition world. And you certainly cant argue with Tonys energy. The guy is a live wire! A few other audio books that you might to pick up include Diet for a New America by John Robbins (no relation to Tony), Eat to Beat Cancer by J. Robert Hatherill and Ultraprevention by Mark Hyman and Mark Liponis (the co-directors of medicine at the Canyon Ranch spa). There are also some interesting nutrition-related podcasts out there such as Tracy Jorgs Vegan Cooking School podcast. And dont forget about about Eric Schlossers best-selling audio book Fast Food Nation. If youre looking for some reasons to never eat fast food again youll find them there. Immerse yourself in a few of these titles and see how your diet changes. Once you discover an enjoyable way to eat better dont be surprised if you never go back to your old ways.
